Top 100 Photos

A.

1. I saw a gorilla and I was reminded of Harambe. I clicked here to see why this gorilla was killed.
2. Senkwekwe, the gorilla above, was one of many gorillas killed in a huge illegal poaching in the Republic of Congo. It takes a team of 12+ men and a makeshift stretcher to move the gorilla.
3. I learned that these gorillas are killed because they are the reason people can make charcoal. They are killed in hopes that if they are all gone, the burn ban will be lifted as there are no gorillas the smoke can harm.

1. I picked this image because I remember hearing about Ali's death earlier this year. I wanted to use this picture for nostalgia.
2. Summarize what you read. How about 2-3 sentences explaining the photo.
In 1965, Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston fought. A minute and fourty-four seconds into the first round, Ali knocked Liston to the ground. Ali bent over him and yelled, "Get up and fight, sucker!" Cigar smoke, lighting, and the right angles make for the perfect legendary photo.
3. Every photo has some additional information, links, readings, or videos associated. Please tell me what you learned in addition to the actual photo. If you need to watch a video, I can come put in my credentials so you can watch, just raise your hands.
The photo Leifer took wasn't the photo that was ran in all the newspapers. It wasnt until now that his photo is so popular. Ali is remembered as a legend and Leifer has the best picture, the only color picture of that moment.

2. Ellen Degeneres who was hosting the Oscars went into the crowd and rounded up some of the most popular actors. They then snapped a selfie and immediately posted it to twitter. The tweet got 3 million retweets within hours. The most retweets of a picture ever.
3. The photo was an accident. Ellen was trying to take a selfie with someone else when Bradley Cooper came over and said he would take it. Ellen said she wanted it to be a selfie so Cooper and others gathered around.
