5 Websites

1. http://petapixel.com/2015/01/01/projector-brought-forest-turns-nature-glowing-wonderland/

Photographer Tarek Mawad and animator Friedrich van Schoor wend into a forest area with a high powered projector and DSLRs for six weeks. Creating fiery red flames on leaves or cool blues on fungi, they turned this slow moving forest into a living world of fantasy. The bugs, animals, and organic architecture was brought to life like frankenstein. It made the atmosphere feel as if it was radioactive.
I learned that taking a new approach and using new, unconventional methods can make a photo look fake and as if it was something out of a superhero comic or add new flare to your photos.

I picked this photo because it shows how crazy this technique makes the leaves look.
      This website had a video.

2. http://petapixel.com/2014/12/19/disorienting-beauty-spiral-staircases-old-abandoned-buildings/

Christian Richter, a photographer from Jeßnitz, Germany, finds natural beauty in the illusion of endless staircases. The project called, "Abandoned Staircases" was launched to show the world their mesmerizing beauty. The photos are hard to get as the artist must travel to many buildings to find a good staircase. Once a good case is found he sets up his camera on his tripod to get the best angle. The photos are eye candy.
I learned that there is beauty in everything and it's just a matter of being able to find it. Also, taking your time with each photo and putting lots of effort into each picture will make them better.

I picked this photo because it makes your brain think. Which way is up? Which way is down? The photos uses lines and repetition (patterns) as its main rules. Christian Richter took this picture.

Timelapses can warp time. We can't tell how much our surroundings are changing until we see a video like this. Getting the perfect timelapse requires lots of planning. Finding your location can be done on google maps. How fast you want your video to be needs to be changed by how often your camera takes pictures and how fast you stitch the photos together. The time you start and stop recording is important. If you want a sunset shot be early so you have time to set-up!

Tutorial I learned that you should plan where your going to shoot in advanced and that calculating how how long you want your lapse to be is important.
If we do timelapses in class I will know basics of how.
This site relates to photography because timelapses are just lots of photos stitched together over time.

It can be hard to comprehend how long these things have been living. When we put it into perspective these creatures ages we feel they should be protected and treated as sacred.  Understanding that something has been alive longer than our first societies is difficult. Like a tree that has been alive for 9.5k years.
I learned that a lot of things can live longer than I ever would've imagined.

This is a tree in Sweden that is 9,550 years old.
I picked this photo because the tree is so old and I think it's amazing that the tree has lived that long.
This photo uses the rules of thirds and simplicity.

5. http://petapixel.com/2014/08/25/approaching-problem-style/

Few people have a unique style of photography. Most people just take pictures of the same thing just slightly different. Develop your own type of style and uniqueness. Don't try to be different just be yourself and your style will become its own. Dont follow the rules of photography religiously, take them as a loose guide.
I learned to let my personality make my style and I shouldnt force it.

This photo is my favorite because the photographer too the rules simplicity but instead of a generic portrait they made the subject act a certain way.
         Robin Walker took this photo.
